Upper Elementary children are becoming deep and intellectual thinkers. Dr. Montessori referred to this plane of development as an Age of Reasoning. Students begin to create the mind and mental capacity retained into adulthood. The Great Lessons, the foundation of Montessori’s cosmic education, provide the framework for the 6-12 year old curriculum.
Students reach an even greater level of independence in the Upper Elementary classrooms.
