Lower Elementary

Lower Elementary serves students aged six to nine. There are five Lower Elementary multi-age classrooms for first, second, and third grades. Children begin to transition to become deep and intellectual thinkers. Moving away from the individual and sensorial work of Children's House, Lower Elementary children develop the need and desire to work in a group and imagination-based plane.

These students are in what Dr. Montessori referred to as an Age of Reasoning, and begin to create the mind and mental capacity retained into adulthood. The Great Lessons, the foundation of Montessori’s cosmic education, provide the framework for the 6-12 year old curriculum.

Students are striving for more independence in the classroom.

"It is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give a child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities."
