Instructor Steve Myott will lead two weeks of children’s camps during the month of June. June 9-13 will be “Let’s Make A Movie” Camp and will be broken into two age groups. Ages 6-8 will meet from 9:00am-12:00pm and ages 9-12 will meet from 1:00PM-4:00PM. Activities will involve all of the exciting aspects of filmmaking, from story creation to acting on film. Young filmmakers will learn film terms and experience what it is like to be a film actor. At the end of the week, family and friends are invited to a “Premiere” of the film on June 13 at 7PM at the Turnage Theater. DVD copies of the film will be given to each participant.
Theater Camp for Youth
June 16 @ 9:00 am - June 20 @ 4:00 pm
Students under the direction of Steve Myott will create and produce an original play, age 6-8 from 9:00AM-12:00PM and age 9-12 from 1:00PM-4:00PM. This is a unique start to finish activity that fully encompasses all aspects of the play-making process. The children learn basic dramatic skills and devices through improvisational exercises, continuing into the creation and fruition of an entire play. The culmination of the workshop will result in a performance for family and friends on Friday, June 20 at 7:00PM at the Turnage Theater.
