Visit Our School

A school visit includes a tour, discussion with Admissions staff and an observation opportunity.  To schedule a tour, please call the office at 946-1977 or email gay.holton@wmpcs.org to check available dates to attend.

Starting in October Prospective Parent Information Sessions are held on the first Wednesday.

WMPCS is a public school open to all children with no fees or tuition.  To enroll a student, an application must be received by the school.  An application does not guarantee enrollment.   Due to the high number of applicants each year, the school holds a lottery to determine which students are offered slots into the school.   The annual lottery is held at an open session Board of Trustees meeting in January before the upcoming school year.  Applicants’ names are pulled at random to fill any available openings.  Siblings of currently enrolled students that have been at WMPCS the prior year are given priority in order to ensure that brothers and sisters can attend together.

Children who are not selected for a position at lottery are placed on the waiting list.  Although there is no guarantee of entry into the school after all lottery slots have been filled, we strongly encourage all who are interested in attending the school complete an application. Completion of an application ensures  the child’s placement on the waiting list.   Administration places children in the school from the waiting list throughout the summer up to and including the 20th day of the school year.   Openings may become available throughout the school year, but are not guaranteed.

Washington Montessori Public Charter School also hosts a private day school for children ages 3 and 4 years old.   This program is separate and different than the charter school kindergarten program which is a free public education program.   To be eligible for the charter school program a student must be offered a slot at lottery or on the waiting list and be 5 years old by August of the school year.

The Day School is a private, nonprofit , tuition based program and is only eligible for families that have a child already enrolled in the charter school or full-time staff children.  The Day School program is integrated with the charter school program and the students are in a blended aged classroom.  The application is available to the right of this information.
